Julie Staples, LPC, CCTP

Trauma Psychotherapist & Mindfulness Meditation Teacher

If you experience anxiety or depression, have a history of trauma, or find yourself wondering, “Why do I feel this way?” you may be carrying experiences that have been difficult to understand on your own. Maybe your thoughts feel scattered, sleep doesn’t come easily, your relationships feel strained, or you’ve become disconnected from yourself. You may simply be looking for a place where you can speak openly and feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment.

Therapy can be a space to slow down and become curious about what you’re experiencing rather than judging yourself for it. Together, we can explore how your experiences have shaped you, make space for what your mind and body may be communicating, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

I believe therapy begins with meeting you where you are. Every person brings their own history, needs, strengths, and ways of making sense of the world, so our work together should reflect who you are rather than asking you to fit into a particular approach. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, building understanding and creating space for choice along the way.

I am especially passionate about trauma-informed mindfulness, self-acceptance, self-compassion, and body awareness. These practices can help you reconnect with yourself in the present while developing a deeper understanding of the experiences you carry.

I also work with people who have experienced medical trauma and the grief, uncertainty, and changes that can accompany it. Whether you are navigating something recent or making sense of experiences from long ago, you deserve a space where the impact of what you’ve been through can be recognized and understood.
