Megan O’Gara, LLMSW-Clinical, CCTP

Trauma Psychotherapist

It feels like you’re always striving to meet everyone else’s expectations, putting their needs before your own, hoping that will somehow make you feel useful and worthy. Yet, deep down, it never feels like it's enough, and you’re left feeling drained and disconnected. You keep getting intrusive reminders about the past, causing you to feel simultaneously on edge and trapped in your own body. These old wounds keep creeping into your present relationships and how you connect with others, leaving you with that nagging sense that you don't fully belong or deserve love as you are.

The truth is, you are lovable, just as you are. You deserve to be seen, valued, and treated with kindness - especially by yourself. Therapy can help you gently understand the protective patterns and inner parts that developed to help you survive, heal from past wounds, and reconnect with the truth that you are enough. Rather than fighting against yourself, we’ll work toward building compassion and curiosity for every part of your experience. You deserve to show up for yourself, to stop carrying the weight of others’ expectations, and to build a life where you feel truly deserving of love and peace. You don’t have to keep trying to prove your worth - you are worthy. Let’s work together to help you believe that again.

My approach combines holistic practices with traditional therapy techniques to help you reconnect with both your mind and your body. We’ll explore how your nervous system, emotions, and inner parts hold your experiences and stories. Together, we’ll explore the root causes of what you’re going through, taking the time to dive into past experiences, body sensations, and emotions at a pace that feels right for you. We’ll learn to listen to your body’s signals and create safety from the inside out. You don’t have to rush this process.

Healing isn’t a straight line, and there will be moments of discomfort and setbacks. We’ll approach those challenges with compassion, knowing that it’s in these tough times where the most powerful growth happens. Through parts work and body-based awareness, we’ll help protective patterns soften while supporting wounded parts in feeling seen, heard, and cared for. I’ll be here, supporting you as you rediscover your power, rebuild your sense of control, and learn to honor your body’s wisdom. You deserve to love yourself the way you’ve always hoped to, and through this work, we’ll get you closer to that place of peace and self-compassion. You don’t have to do this alone - I’m with you every step of the way as you begin to invest in yourself and your future.
